Ten on Tuesday!
Tuesday, November 1, 2011
You'd think I'd be sittin' pretty on my NaNo novel right now, seeing as that's all I've talked about the last few days. Well, surprise surprise: 17 hours in and I'm at...0.
It seems to always go this way. I'm so caught up in prepping and gearing up for it that when the time comes...I'm 'eh' about it. I'll get there, I know I will - I think I'm just letting my head get into that starting mindset. The mental part is half the battle, right?
Anyway, Ten on Tuesday! I haven't participated in this in awhile, so I'm glad to be back :) Link up here and join the fun!
1. What is your favorite month?
December. It's just this incredible whirlwind of a month, filled with peppermint mochas and Christmas stress and holiday decorations and my mom's birthday and a brand new year just on the horizon.

2. What is the best candy to get while trick or treating?
Twix!

3. What kind of pen do you use?
I use a Sharpie pen, if the paper can handle it - otherwise, just a standard ball point is fine. Not ultra fine tip though, it feels like I'm scratching paper then. And I avoid gel pens if I can handle it, the ink smears and slides funny on me since I have weird cursive/print hybrid writing.

4. You go to a new Italian restaurant, what is your go-to order?
Uhh...my family is weird elitist and we don't really go to Italian restaurants anymore because it's a pallid comparison to having lived in Italy for 3 years. But if I have to, I'll usually go with lasagna. It's a pretty good way to measure the noodle, the sauce and the cut/quality of meat.

5. If you could choose to have any celebrity’s hair, who’s would you choose?
I've always been a big fan of Kate Beckinsale's hair. It's always been just the right amount of styled and smooth and shiny and slightly messy that i love. Really, if I could just be her...that'd be cool, too.

6. What’s your favorite board game?
Taboo if we're in a big enough group (though i beg of you to never play Guys v. Girls - that was a disastrous night), Apples to Apples if we're with a great group of friends, and Scattergories any other time.

7. Do you know how to play poker?
Vaguely. I always need a refresher just before, but I get it in general. At least Texas Hold 'Em, I don't know about others or standard.

8. What do you think about Old Navy commercials?
Can't stand 'em. They're plastic and contrived and absurd and annoying.

9. What hurts worse- a stubbed toe or a paper cut?
In the moment, a stubbed toe: that shit throbs, man! But in the long run, I think a paper cut because it lingers and is so small you usually forget it, but then it comes back as a searing burn the next few times you irritate it.

10. What’s your favorite kind of pie?
Apple crumble, or pumpkin. I'm not really a big pie person, but those I'll always eat.
