Light posting & the 30 Day Journal Challenge!
Tuesday, August 10, 2010
I think this week's and next week's posts are going to be minimal, guys. There's a lot of stuff going on with my house/life (mostly good, so don't fret, lovelies) and I should probably focus on that rather than my computer screen. I'll still be here, but don't mind the lack of real talk.
Which reminds me, I think the next month or two may bring about some serious posts. I don't often get too serious on this here bloggy o' mine, but the past month has been incredibly introspective and reflective and all those other -ectives. Basically, if I plan on moving on in life and making something of myself, I need to reconcile who I've been and what's happened. Some of you may know some of the stuff, others may be sick of hearing my talk about a certain part of life, but...you know, I have to sort this out for me. And if it has to happen again and again in order for me to get there, so be it. You can hit your fancy "Mark As Read;" I swear I won't be offended (much).
But that won't be today, at least! Over at Run With Scissors, she did a 30 Day Journal Challenge last month. I wanted to participate but knew I wouldn't have the time to do it, so I decided to save the prompts and do them later. I used to journal all the time, but with the internetz' and the fact that I type a lot faster than I can scribble, the computer has taken over. So, I took this in the hopes of rekindling that journal love. Plus, I had a random Moleskin journal lying around that was just begging to be filled. Periodically, I shall bestow upon you all the images of the journal! Be aware that I am no artist and my handwriting changes on the time of day and the pen I'm using. Also, most of these are done around 3am when I'm arguably delirious from exhaustion...which just makes this more fun!
Prompt 1: Create a full page design introducing yourself :) Highlight your name many times in the midst of your design. Have fun, be creative, don't stress, just jump right in!
I couldn't really think of designs to represent me, so I went with lyrics. For those that figure out what song it is, yeah, I went there! |
Prompt 2: What is the BEST part of your day? Is it working out? Is it "quitting time" at work? Is it dinner with the fam? What is it? You can write about it, draw it, sketch it, doodle it, anything you like!
My sheets are red stripes. |
Prompt 3: It's always nice to share with someone why you love them.Today, I want you to draw a picture, doodle, sketch, of a person who you love, or admire. Then, write that person a letter telling them why they mean so much to you!
Prompt 4: What does your heart look like? It can be literal, it can be symbolic, it can be broken and need fixing...anything! [Author's note: sorry the picture is blurry! I was going fast.]
I know, this is kind of sad (and way girly). But it's the truth, I suppose. Also, this is probably the first and only time I'll write my brother's name! (Eric) |
